My passion for the world started at birth.
My Middle Eastern background provided for a strong sense of culture. As a child, I would wrap grape leaves with my grandmother, listening to stories of how she and my grandfather came over to the US on a ship from Iran, their arms filled with Persian carpets, 6 children, and an American dream. On my first day of first grade, two Japanese foreign exchange students took our entire class by surprise. Instead of leaving the girls’ out while they learned to speak English, I suggested the class learn key Japanese phrases. It was from that point on that my love for language, culture, and travel truly started to blossom. I received a degree in Intercultural Communication from The University of Iowa. There, I also minored in Spanish. I went to Beijing, Xi’an, and Shanghai, China for the opening to the 2008 Summer Olympics, and performed a cultural ethnography. It was one of the best experiences of my life. After spending 4 years in the Entertainment industry in Los Angeles, I moved back to Chicago and pursed my dream of traveling the world, and helping others do the same! I found my place back in my hometown of Barrington, Illinois, at Travel House. Strong roots run deep, and I’m so excited to be here. I specialize in multi-generational trips to warm weather destinations, as well as Asia. I also specialize in trips to Bermuda, Costa Rica, Cuba, and Hawaii. My favorite trips to plan are Yacht Charters around the Caribbean!
